Marco Island Beaches
The beach on Marco Island, (Crescent Beach), is well maintained. It is regularly raked and tilled. Raking keeps the seaweed at a minimum and tilling keeps the sand soft. The beach is about 6 miles long with 4 public access points, from north to south there is (1)Tigertail, (2)Mid Beach Public Access, north property line of the Marriott Hotel & Spa, (3)South Beach Public Access, south property line of the Marriott Crystal Shores, and (4)South Beach. You can regularly find interesting shells along the entire shoreline, taking a walk along the shoreline is a shell collector's paradise. On the north end of the beach you will find Tigertail sometimes referred to as Sand Dollar Island. The name is fitting because you often find sand dollars by the dozens. Sand Dollar Island is designated a conservation area for nesting shore birds, be alert for areas that are posted to protect the nest. On the south end of the beach you will find South Marco Beach, lined with sabal palms and large luxury condos.
